The Yaroslavl Academic Governor’s Symphony Orchestra opened its concert season with a bright, solemn, and truly unforgettable evening.
At the conductor’s podium was the chief conductor of the YAGSO, Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan Vasily Valitov. His subtle, emotional, and expressive reading united the large-scale works of great composers into a single dramatic line.
A special adornment of the evening was the participation of brilliant soloists — People’s Artist of the Kazakh SSR, outstanding violinist Aiman Musakhodzhayeva, and international competition laureate, virtuoso violist Alexei Lyudevig. Their inspired ensemble in Max Bruch’s Concerto for Violin and Viola captivated listeners with the depth of its sound, artistic precision, and heartfelt emotionality.
That evening, the following works were performed:
— the majestic Fantasia and Fugue in C minor, BWV 537, by J. S. Bach, in Edward Elgar’s orchestration;
— the lyrical and refined Concerto for Violin and Viola with Orchestra in E minor, op. 88, by M. Bruch;
— the monumental, dramatic, and triumphantly radiant Symphony No. 5 in E minor, op. 64, by P. Tchaikovsky.
We thank our listeners for the warm reception and loud applause. This festive evening became a wonderful beginning of the new season!
