Today, the Chamber Orchestra of Soloists of the Yaroslavl Academic Governor’s Symphony Orchestra, directed by Vasily Valitov, gave its first performance at the Strelka. The new ensemble’s debut took place as part of the Vinograd Festival.
The orchestra was founded in August 2026 on the initiative of YAGSO’s Principal Conductor Vasily Valitov. In its first concert programme, the musicians performed melodies from well-known films, presenting the audience with a bright and expressive chamber sound. The Chamber Orchestra was conducted by Alexey Arinushkin.
The festival audience gave the performers a warm and emotional welcome: the applause continued for a long time, and the public was reluctant to let the musicians leave the stage.
The new ensemble will become a space for creative exploration and professional development for young performers, as well as a dialogue between the philharmonic’s academic stage and a contemporary audience. The project is intended to help young listeners discover the world of classical music and feel the richness of what a chamber orchestra can offer.
Bon voyage, YAGSO Chamber Orchestra of Soloists!
